(Welcome to the desert-island of Joe User)
I guess this is supposed to be an introductory post..
Why desert-island? Way back when I started out playing games and such on the internet (MUDs, anyone know them?) I had to pick a nickname, and settled on "castaway", from "Message in a bottle" by Sting, looking up the lyrics of which, I will leave as an exercise for the reader. Having to name my first computer some time later, it became "desert-island", and still is.. So now you know.
Here you will probably see quite sporadic posts, I hardly seem to have time to programm things I'd like to in my spare time, I have no idea how people find the time to blog as well..
There will probably be some stuff about programming projects, site ideas, annoyances and so on. There will be no stuff whatsoever about politics (bah), and little about current affairs.. I hope to be interesting to someone, despite this 
I actually started this blog because I would like some opinions on a website idea I'm fiddling with, and hopefully some useful discussion.
So.. welcome.. pull up a sand dune under the shade of a palm tree, grab a fresh coconut, and pin back your ears...
